INVITATION TO NATIONAL PUR$L 2005 WORKSHOP

The National Productive Use & Rehabilitation of Saline Land (PUR$L) Workshop is being held in Wellington/ Cowra during the period 25th - 27th October 2005 in conjunction with Lachlan & Central West CMA’s.

What 2005 PUR$L Workshop is about?
The Workshop will have a predominantly landholder focus with three key aims:

  1. Technology transfer for salinity practitioners

  2. Focus on local salinity issues in mixed farming landscapes of Central West NSW

  3. Build networks between regional decision makers, farmers and advisers

 The workshop aims to provide:

  1. A forum for exploring practical solutions for rehabilitating saline land, highlighting and integrating current research into the use and rehabilitation of saline lands

  2. Opportunity to talk with farmers facing the same land management issues as you!  Farmers’ talking to farmers about what works and what doesn’t in the reclamation of saline land

  3. Opportunity to explore current and future productive use of saline land options in the Central West. The workshop will also address key issues at the forefront of CMA operations, such as where and how to target works, salinity targets & monitoring, and how to facilitate engagement to allow implementation

  4. Access to key speakers with specific salinity knowledge and information from across the nation, as well as practical seminar sessions on how to manage salinity delivered by local experts

The organising committee wish to offer you an invitation to an event which we think will promote the successes of the local Central West and State Wide salinity works.  It also highlights the partnerships being built with the whole of the community, and gives a national focus and exposure to the Central West.
